A bold reinterpretation of alpine architecture, this penthouse above the redesigned Pizzeria Hans features block-like volumes and a hidden rooftop terrace under a traditional gabled roof.
The renovation and extension of the residential unit above the newly redesigned Pizzeria Hans—also a project by the studio—builds on the existing architectural language of the structure, enhancing its block-like presence. The design reinterprets the volume by shifting and offsetting blocks and levels, creating a dynamic composition embedded beneath a traditional gabled roof typical of the region.
The standout feature of the project is the cubically enclosed rooftop terrace, discreetly integrated into the roof of the uppermost unit—offering both privacy and a unique spatial experience within a familiar alpine silhouette.
