Zin Fux Restaurant on the Slopes

Sesto
Set at the edge of the forest in the Sexten Dolomites, Zin Fux is a luminous reinterpretation of the classic ski lodge, inviting the landscape inside with glass, wood, and bold architectural clarity.

A reduced alpine form, glowing at the forest’s edge. Nestled at the edge of the woods in the Sexten Dolomites, this mountain restaurant distills the essence of a traditional alpine hut into a minimal, contemporary form. The two-story structure is defined by simplicity, with its silhouette and materiality designed to merge seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.

A double-height dining space opens outward with expansive glass façades, visually drawing the forest inward. To strengthen this gesture, tree trunks were deliberately integrated along the glazing, blurring the boundary between architecture and nature.

At night, the building glows from within, its structure dissolving into shadow and light. Key interior features include a forest-facing lounge on the upper level, two open fireplaces, and exposed concrete textured to resemble wood, all contributing to a sense of raw elegance and warm refuge.
